After many years of theological education and original Biblical languages I still had not found

what I was looking for...

One afternoon on my seminary campus a friend suggested I try a course in the Christian Formation and Discipleship department. This was the practical how 'to do' ministry section of the Master of Divinity program.

I registered for the course and experienced 'eureka!' Dictionary meaning: "I have found it!'

That one course led to more courses and a year long specialization in the practicalities of a step-by-step inductive Bible study method, small groups, courses on how to teach the Bible for life-change as well as the core foundations of how-to-discipleship and adult spiritual development.

It was a transformative experience in my personal spiritual experience as well as my professional life.

Interesting story.

I never wanted to be a pastor. No offense to anyone, not even marry one.

God has a sense of humor doesn't he? I ended up working as a Discipleship Pastor.

That's how my life purpose came into being and you and I get to meet this very moment.

When I heard that same longing expressed for that 'something' to bring 'alive' their spiritual life from my local church members. I knew exactly what they were talking about.

However, the contrast was distinct and stark. I had found the practices, skills and methods in the rich and abundant resources made available to me in my seminary education.

There was nothing like that available for them unless they could afford the time and finances to attend a Christian college or seminary that offered those courses.

Face to face with this reality, I started the journey of creating and designing workshops ( the favorite adult learning experience), workbooks and resources to provide and make available to my local church members the same 'eureka!' discovery, experience and for many an answer to prayer, as I had.
